- Ohio State- I’ll have more to speak on about OSU in my Buckeye Nation Stand Up for this week, but with 2 top 15 wins before the midpoint in the season, this team looks unbeatable to me. I have them over Bama strictly because of the Quality of Wins thus-far, and if they keep winning, the Buckeyes will keep the top spot.
- Alabama- What can I say? This is the classic Bama team that looks incredible but have no true tests. They pass the eye test by running up the score on below average teams, but they just don’t have that signature win for me to put them at the top.
- LSU- This is purely based on Quality of Wins, and many would argue switching the 3-4 spots. This debate will be settled when LSU takes on Georgia in 2 weeks, until then LSU must hang on to their undefeated streak against a hot Florida team.
- Georgia- This team is very similar to Alabama, passing the eye test but no quality wins. The LSU matchup will likely set the tone for what this Bulldogs team will be come the CFP.
- Oklahoma- Clemson has been absolutely DISGRACEFUL this season and I can no longer justify keeping them in the Top 5. Thus the decision between Oklahoma and West Virginia. I think Oklahoma is better, but I’m still not 100% sold on this team being a contender. They play a big game against Texas, and have a chance to prove that they deserve a playoff spot come Selection Sunday.
