The Best QB in the NFL is Who?

As I’ve said in previous NFL articles, this has been one of the strangest and most entertaining seasons in recent memory. For a few weeks Ryan Fitzpatrick and Blake Bortles looked like the two best QBs in the league, something I never thought could happen. Well those two have regressed back into the players they truly are and the league can finally balance itself out. We should be seeing Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers back atop the QB throne now that Fitzmagic is no longer putting up 400 yards and 4 TDs per game, right? Wrong, 2nd year QB Patrick Mahomes has been absolutely ELECTRIC through his first 4 games.

He has put up remarkable numbers thus-far with 14 TDs and ZERO interceptions. Especially for a QB who has been known as reckless, a 14:0 ratio is very impressive. In addition to all this, he has thrown for a gaudy 1,200 yards with a 126.5 QBR to this point. These are some of the most impressive numbers we have seen since Peyton Manning’s infamous 2013 season in which he broke literally every record in the book.

Not only has he been able to put up crazy numbers but he also led the Chiefs to a 4-0 start, the only team to do so. The most recognizable of these wins was Monday night in Denver. His first start in the Mile High city was his worst statistically, but many would argue that it was his best all-around game. He made multiple big plays in the 4th to orchestrate the comeback against one of the best defenses in the league.

This kid has one of the best arms I’ve ever seen. A video came out before yesterday’s game of Patty Mahomes casually throwing a ball 130 yards. 130 YARDS! Like he was tossing the ball around in his backyard. The video was ABSURD and one of the craziest things that I have seen in a long time. In this very limited sample size, Mahomes is living up to all the hype, and then some.
