Sundays Are for The Boys

Coming off a disappointing loss on Sunday night football against the Texans, the Cowboys return home to host the Jacksonville Jaguars. Dallas is 2-0 this year in their home stadium and they hope the trend can continue on Sunday.

The Cowboys will likely be without Sean Lee for a third straight game and Maliek Collins is questionable as well. Dallas does expect to get back David Irving from a personal issue that kept him out of the Texans game. Demarcus Lawrence also missed Wednesday practice with a banged up shoulder, but expect the all-pro to play Sunday. Dallas will have to rely on this defense again because the matchup on the other side.

On offense, the Cowboys look to rebound from a dismal performance last week, but it’ll be a tall task against a Jacksonville defense that ranks 3rd in the league. The Jaguars rank 1st in passing yards allowed with CB Jalen Ramsey being the heart, soul, and voice of that defense. The Cowboys must run the ball better than last week to stay out of 3rd and long situations that plagued them against the Texans.

Dallas comes into the game as a 3 point home underdog, but AT&T Stadium has been good to the Cowboys this year. Prescott’s two best games have come at home this season vs the Giants and Lions. Ezekiel Elliott gets over 100 yards and makes 1 big catch. The defense also matches up well against Jacksonville because Blake Bortles is more of a stationary target at QB unlike Deshaun Watson.  Bortles was not very good against an awful Chiefs defense, and I don’t expect him to be much better Sunday. Dak Prescott makes one big play that ultimately is the difference.

23-16 Cowboys get back to .500 and possibly first place in the division.
