This is a VERY important game for the Ohio State Buckeyes. We have been very lackluster against mediocre teams these last few weeks and we need to sure up those last few problems before we hit the final rough patch in our schedule. Dwayne Haskins has been impeccable this season and has shown no sign of slowing down. Another 400 yard game bolsters his already impressive Heisman campaign. On top of that, Haskins completed 75% (33/44) of his passes on the day and added 3 touchdowns, bringing his total to 28. Those 28 are 2 more than any other player in the NCAA, Haskins is also 3rd in the country for passing yards, with 2331.
Unfortunately, that was the only bright spot for the Bucks on Saturday. The defense tightened up at the end, but allowed a quick 14 points in the first half and benefited from 2 missed FGs by Minnesota Kicker Emmit Carpenter. The offense was simply not very explosive. The O-line has been horrible the last few games and that leads to a poor rushing performance from 2 of the best backs in the game. This must be fixed before we take on #24 ranked Michigan State in two weeks, and is crucial to the outcome of The Game on November 24th.
This week, the Buckeyes will be taking on another on of those average teams, Purdue. Purdue is on a 3 game hot streak after losing their first 3. The line is set at 13.5, and that has to be my mortal lock of the week. OSU is not happy with how they have been playing and I expect all that to be fixed. Look for an explosive offense similar to the one who racked up 77 vs Oregon State and bet Bucks. Huge win, Ohio State 66, Purdue 10.
P.S. Thank you Nick Bosa for all you have done for the program. You are and always will be an incredible Buckeye and we all wish you the best at the next level!
