This week was great road win. With Army coming out on top against Eastern Michigan, 37-22. The offense did great this week, especially with passing more than last week. QB Hopkins Jr. completed 7 of 8 passes for 126 yards and 2 touchdowns. WR Walker had 1 reception for 2 yards and a touchdown. WR Asberry had 2 receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown, along with 7 carries for 20 yards and another touchdown. Hopkins Jr. had 23 carries for 100 yards. FB Woolfolk had 24 carries for 89 yards and 1 touchdown. Overall the offense did just as expected. The defense did step it up from their previews game against Miami (OH). Having shutout 1st and 2nd quarters, and a sack from LB Christiansen. As great as this win is, this weeks road game is one to watch.
This week the Black Knights face off on their home turf against the Air Force Falcons. The Falcons are currently 3-5. Air Force lost 38-48 against Boise State last week. Falcons QB sanders completed 10 of 15 passes for 210 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 98 yards for 1 touchdown. The Air Force defense acquired 2 sacks and forced only 1 punt. Overall Air Force seems to be a decent foe. However, Army still has a chance.
This week the Black Knights have some things to work on. I cant say for sure that they have an easy game. Since Navy lost 7-35 against the Falcons. First of all, like every other week. Army needs to pass. I love the Flex-Bone formation, but I cant deny the effectiveness of a spread offense. Now I’m not saying they need to start running spread, but to be a playoff team they need to be able to pass effectively. Now Hopkins Jr. really isn’t the best thrower, but short to medium passes could do well for the Black Knight offense. The Army defense is in good shape for this week. The way Air Forces offense works the D-line and LBs need to be able to get a stop on the run game. The secondary also needs to be ready for the pass game.
Overall this will be a tough game, I still believe that army will come away with the win. I predict the game to be 46-30.
