Black Knights Rundown (#7)

It was a great week for the Black Knights, they took on the Air Force Falcons for the Commander in Chief trophy. Previously with the Black Knights, and after the game, it was still with them. Army won 17-14. Now it’s not the score I was hoping for, but it’s still a win.

First off, the offense did have as much success as they normally do. Hopkins Jr. completed 3 of 5 passes for 44 yards. The completion rate is normal for Hopkins Jr. however, the passing yards and no touchdowns are off from what it usually is. FB Woolfolk had 21 carries for 117 yards and one touchdown, along with Hopkins Jr. with 19 carries and one touchdown. They won, I get it, but compared to past games this offense wasn’t very productive. In the past, we would see multiple backs with 70+ yards, and multiple touchdowns from both air and ground. They usually do have some field goals, but they never really needed one to win the game. Air Force is a good team, so it wasn’t really surprising that they were able to put up a good fight. Fortunately, the defense held them off. Defense definitely stepped up this week, being able to hold the Falcons off for a couple quarters. Even when Air Force got points, the defense wouldn’t allow many. DB Reynolds acquired one pick for the Black Knights. They were able to force the Falcons to punt on 3 occasions.

As great as this win is, the Black Knights need to get ready for Lafayette. The leopards just came off a loss against Holy Cross, and are looking for redemption. QB O´Malley completed 23 of 41 passes for 156 yards against Holy Cross. RB Amill had 9 carries for 65 yards and one touchdown, along with RB Pearson had 3 carries for 7 yards and a touchdown. Their offense is a lot like what we’ve been seeing lately. Their defense isn’t much to worry about. They allowed 40 points across 2 quarters against Holy Cross. In fact, I can’t even find decent defensive stats for them.

This is should be a trap game for the Black Knights. I predict the score to be 41-20, with army winning.
