Former third-string quarterback at Alabama and brother of this year’s #5 pick in the NFL Draft, Taulia Tagovailoa announced that he would be heading to College Park via twitter.
This is a huge get for the Maryland Terrapins, a team that found themselves 118th in the country in passing yards per game last season. Tagovailoa appeared in three games for the Crimson Tide in his freshman campaign, posting 100 yards and two touchdowns on nine-of-twelve passing. The limited sample makes it impossible to fully judge the impact that Tagovailoa will have on this Maryland roster, but you can’t deny the talent that the Alabama transfer brings. The Terp’s 2019 starter Josh Jackson was unable to establish himself as the guy in his first year with the team, leaving room for the true sophomore to to compete for the starting job immediately.
